reworking some past drawings

A while back I created a Mural for my local library.The theme was animals on the endangered species list & books. These drawings are from the planning stage of the mural. I decided to scan the drawings then paint them digitally. I can”t wait to see how they turn out!

This Saturday I had a table set up at my grandson’s School Christmas Fair. I brought a painting & had a digital picture frame with a few of my other paintings…I made a few contacts & enjoyed the day! While I was there I started work on a new painting of Sophie…

It’s been a while since I posted- I was on vacation & when I got home I had so much to catch up on! I was working on a painting (my last post) —and had to put it aside for a while. I hit a dead-end & I will go back to it soon. I haven’t decided on the background.

If you’ve had this happen to you I would love to here about it & how you solved it!

Right now I am working on a landscape…pastel on bord. The underpainting is just about done, (I used gold leaf flecks in the, —something new). I will be working on details this week.

This painting is of 3 of my grandchildren discussing a book…I am working with PanPastel, nupastels & rembrant. The board has a suede finish (which is nice to work with, it takes a lot of layers, but doesn’t have a tooth) What you see here is the underpainting : reference photo are in the background, on the drawing table.

I had a very busy month…I created my new website, added a domain name to my coralmoonstudios Facebook page & learned a bit about the insights. In the last month 45 likes was added to the page and I hope to increase that by 500 before June 31st.

I read Holly DeWolf ’s Blog -Protecting Your Work Online- Not A Simple Task! I implemented the suggestions from the blog to my pictures and added a digimarc.

I had to catch up on paperwork, marketing, publicity & social networking. Right now I am working on some sort of schedule to do this at least once a week. I have also been practicing my digital painting as you can see.

I wanted to create something different then my usual illustrations…this is brightly colored & a bit whimsical. I have been experimenting with different papers & panpastels. (The paper is bristol–a bit rough)
